London Hypnotherapist. Weight Loss.

Dear Dr David Kraft

My name is J. I am 14 stone and I have had two babies. I am now 42 and decided to have a hysterectomy last month because of what my doctor said. I went to a specialist in London and he performed the operation under a general anaesthetic. I want to take off weight so much. I was 10 stone five years ago before I had my two daughters and I want to take off that weight. Now, I am so depressed too. I know that the operation was a life changing event for a woman, but I feel less of a woman. I still want sex and everything, but I somehow feel less attractive to my husband. I feel fat, and non-sexy, and this feeling has worsened since I had the operation. I want another operation now to get rid of the fat, but I know that this would probably be a bad idea. Can we use hypnotherapy to help me with this problem? I heard that weight loss hypnotherapy was very effective for woman.

The fact that I have had a hysterectomy won’t effect my ability to take off weight, will it? I was told by my doctor that each person is different and that I should be fine, and still have good sex. I have had good sex since the oiperation, although it took some time to recover from this trauma.

I took a lot of care after the operation. Many surgeons agree that six to eight weeks is sufficient time to recover from the operation: I did not have sex for three months even though I was dying for it.

I worried that I would get chronic pelvic pain, but I didn’t.

Please help me take off weight and feel better about myself. If hypnotherapy is useful, please help me.

J

Dear Dr Kraft

I have been looking at your website–in fact the website of London Hypnotherapy UK–and I am really keen to see you at 10 Harley Street. How many people work at London Hypnotherapy UK? I would really like to see you if possible because I need you to help me and I want the best hypnotherapist possible. When I come for the first session, will we be able to use hypnotherapy/hypnosis straight away? My friend went to see a hypnotherapist last year for her eating problems–she eats too much chocolate–and she has now taken off nearly a stone. It sounds like hypnotherapy is really very powerful indeed. My mother also went to see a hypnotherapist in Cardiff near where she works and she has found that she likes to keep seeing him for top up regularly–well, once every three or four months. She finds it really helpful to do this from time to time. She suffers from IBS. Also a really good friend of mine came over from Saudi Arabia especially to see you and he is now so much better. He had all sorts of problems and he is so much happier now having seen you. Thank you so much for that!

I also have problems with IBS. I feel bloated and I sometimes have constipation and sometimes suffer from diarrhea.

Many thanks

Del

Dear Del

Of course I can help you and I can also offer you ‘top up sessions’ if you feel that they would be helpful. I am the therapist at London Hypnotherapy UK. We will use hypnotherapy at the first session when you feel that it is appropriate to do so.

Hypnotherapist London

Dear sir

I am Jim. I saw a psychologist last year because of my panic attacks and he sorted me out for a while. I was first given a number of drugs by my GP, but they didn’t work. They just left me feeling numb and out of control. I also felt tired. The drugs also affected my concentration during the day and this had serious consequences in my job. I then went to see this psychologist (clinical psychologist) and she gave me 12 sessions. I felt more in control of my life, and this was really good. Now, I am anxious again. It gets worse after long journeys on the tube. I find that I get more and more wound up, angry and anxious when I am surrounded by lots of people. It makes me feel really het up, like I was a teacher again. I am looking for a psychologist  or a psychotherapist or a hypnotherapist in the London area. Is there a London Hypnotherapy Centre that I can contact?

Thanks

Brian

Dear hypnotherapist/psychotherapist

My name is Margaret. I have been working really hard to try to take off weight. I have a comprehensive understanding of the principles of taking off weight. I understand that you have to eat small meals and that you should not snack in between eating sessions. I also understand that sugar is not helpful and that we should reduce a fat intake. I know of of this. I have taken off a stone so far. But I have these sessions that take place where I don’t care. I binge eat and the more I eat the more I don’t care. I say to myself, ‘Well, I have eaten this so I might as well eat this cake as well, or this pizza, or this pint of beer’. And then in the morning, I feel really guilty and it puts me back three days worth of dieting. Or more…….

Can you help me stop having this attacks? I have many friends that have tried hypnotherapy and they have been helped for all sorts of problems. I have looked on your website and I have been really impressed. I look at the section entitled, ‘Weight Loss Hypnotherapy’. What is ‘Weight Loss Hypnotherapy’. Can it help me with my binge eating and will it help me to take off weight in the future? I am in it for the long term and really want to get to my ideal weight. Hypnotherapy must be the right thing for me. I want it to empower me to have more control. At the moment I am 11 stone, but I am not tall and my ideal weight is 9 stone. I am also doing exercise at the gym and this has helped me to take off weight in the past. I am also looking trimmer and fitter. I reallly hope hypnotherapy will work. The cardiovascular work that I have been doing has given me more energy too, but some weeks I put on muscle and weigh more. I only weigh myself at the end of each week, and I don’t do this every day. I am looking for a top hypnotherapist. Someone who really knows what he is doing. A hypnotherapist based in somewhere like Harley Street like yourself.

Can you get me an appointment and how do I do it.

Margaret

Dear Margaret

Yes certainly I can help. One used to have to go to one’s GP to get a referral letter, but now, all one has to do is to go to London Hypnotherapy UK or London Psychotherapy directly, and then book an appointment. The links are below:

www.londonhypnotherapyuk.com and www.londonpsychotherapy.co.uk

‘Weight Loss Hypnotherapy’ is the general name given to treatment programmes which use hypnotherapy to help people to take off weight. Some hypnotherapist use a strict regimented approach which last s for a certain number of weeks; I, however, tend to build a treatment programme around the needs of the individual client, and this strategy is tailor made to suit your needs. I have had a great deal of success working with a number of people who have had eating disorders. However, binge eating, in any any of its forms is not classed as an eating disorder. Certainly, the aim of the hypnotherapy is to help you to take off weight and to keep it off in the future.

If you would like to book a session, please feel free to ring me at 10 Harley Street, London, W1G 9PF. I look forward to speaking to you. The number is as follows: 0207 467 8564.

Dear Dr David Kraft

I want to ask you whether you can help me. I had hypnotherapy with your father, Dr Tom Kraft, and I want to know whether you can see me too. I saw him three years ago and he helped me with my research. He was a mine of information about hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, and I went to him for assistance. I was not a patient, but I did receive a basic training on hypnosis from him. At the time I was doing the UCL course and he was my tutor. I wanted to ask some more questions. Can you see me in Harley Street, or can we meet at the Royal Society of Medicine. I assume that you are a fellow there too. I remember having coffee with your father in the bar at the Royal Society of Medicine one time and he helped me with a piece of coursework that I was doing.

I am now working in private practice and need help with the following areas: performance anxiety, weight loss hypnotherapy, smoking cessation hypnotherapy, IBS treatment strategies (in particular how to use imagery in treatment, and the ‘river approach’), covert sensitization, and some more information about systematic desensitization.

Can you help

Thanks

J

Dear J

Yes, of course, we can meet. You can ring me on 0207 467 8564. We can meet at the Royal Society of Medicine in the first instance if you like. I, like my late father, use a combination of psychodynamic psychotherapy and hypnotherapy.
