TIME DISTORTION

People experience hypnosis in difference ways. Some people are able to achieve deep levels of relaxation, while others are able to experience hypnosis in light fashion which is akin to meditation. There are a great number of spontaneous hypnotic phenomena—for example, amnesia, analgesia, hand levitation, loss of sensation, re-vivification, age regression and progression, dissociation and depersonalisation—but this varies from individual to individual. And, indeed, most people only experience these phenomena as a result of being given a specific suggestion. However, time distortion is a phenomenon which is prevalent in most individuals. Individuals usually over-estimate the time in hypnosis.
